FAQs

Why did the Museum build the Park?

We built the park to reflect upon the sacrifices made by veterans from all branches of the Armed Forces during the Vietnam War, to honor those who did not return home, and to start an important conversation about how those who did return were treated when they arrived back home.

How much does it cost to enter the Park?

The park is free to all visitors.

What days and times can we visit?

You can visit from sunrise to sunset daily. Security guards will complete routine checks of the Park day and night to ensure the safety of all visitors. While the Memorial Park is public and not currently fenced, it does have security cameras.

How do I get to the Park?

To access the Memorial Park, we suggest driving over before/after your visit to the Museum. As you leave the Main Parking lot on the East Campus, turn right onto East Marginal Way South. At the immediate next signal (at the Pedestrian Bridge), turn left onto S. 94th Place and follow the road around the building. Drive all the way to the North end of the Aviation Pavilion and you will see the Park on your left. See Map.

Do I have to pay for parking?

No, parking is free.

Is the park wheelchair accessible?

Yes, the park is wheelchair accessible.

Can I bring food into the park?

Because the park is outside the Museum, you can bring food. Please dispose of trash in available receptacles to keep the park clean! There are benches and picnic tables throughout the park.

Can I take photos at the park?

Yes. The park is a public space and photos are allowed.

Can I take photos of the plane and the park with a drone?

No. Due to the park’s proximity to the King County International Airport, as well as a public high school, personal drones are not allowed.

Are there tours of the park?

No guided tours of the plane or park are available at this time. However, because the park is still a part of Museum property, it will be maintained and cared for in a routine manner to ensure it’s safe and usable for visitors.

How do I reserve a plaque for the tribute wall?
