What's your vision of space?

The Museum of Flight is excited to announce the Space Art Challenge for all artists ages 5 to 17! Before the close of our Destination Moon: The Apollo 11 Mission exhibit, we want to celebrate the creativity involved in space exploration. This contest is for two-dimensional artwork. For full challenge rules please see entry packet.

3 Age Groups:

  • Comet (ages 5-8)

  • Nebula (ages 9-13)

  • Galaxy (ages 14-17)

 


 

Here's how you can join in:

1. CREATE YOUR ARTWORK 

Be creative! Anything space related is what we are looking for! Your artwork must be two-dimensional and no larger than 32 inches on any side. 

 

2. FILL OUT THE ENTRY PACKET - Due 8/16/2019 at 5 p.m. PST

DOWNLOAD ENTRY PACKET

Entry Packet includes the following:

  • Intent to Participate
  • Photo/Video Release
  • Designer Biography
  • Design Description
  • Design Drawing

3. SHOWCASE YOUR ARTWORK DURING SPACE ART DAY  - 8/23/2019 - 8/25/2019

Top 18 artists will showcase their artwork in the Side Gallery at The Museum of Flight.
Ribbon Ceremony announcing winners on 8/25/19.

 


 

Dates to Remember

August 16, 2019 Entry packet & artwork photos due by 5 p.m. Please include your intent to participate, biography, written description of your artwork, and photo release form. Artists will be contacted within 48 hours for
confirmed participation.

August 17, 2019Top 18 artists notified on whether or not they will participate in the art show.

August 21, 2019 Artwork must be dropped-off to The Museum of Flight by 5 p.m. to be prepped for the art show.

August 23 to 25, 2019 Top 18 artworks will be displayed in the Side Gallery at The Museum of Flight.

August 25, 2019Artists will participate in the Ribbon Ceremony at The Museum of Flight during Space Art Day.

August 26 to 31, 2019Artists must pick-up artwork before August 31 at 5 p.m. Arrangements must be made with
Emily Simmons.
